The Department for Transport (DfT) published a Call for Evidence as part of its review of roads policing. The deadline for responses is 5 October 2020. DfT are reviewing existing roads policing to:
- identify which current methods are most effective
- understand how enforcement services can be enhanced to improve safety and reduce future casualties
As part of the review, DfT are exploring how:
- we can better use intelligence to target dangerous behaviours
- technology can assist in enforcing road traffic law now and in the future
- to better understand the value of enforcement in influencing road user behavior
