As the Chair for the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Trailer and Towing Safety, I would like to make you aware of the SAFE Towing Safety campaign being run this summer by the DVSA. Following the tragic death of Freddie, a young child in my constituency, the #towsafe4freddie campaign has thrown a spotlight on the importance of trailer safety. At the start of the holiday season, we have a timely opportunity to deliver towing safety messages to drivers who are new to towing (for example, new caravan owners) and drivers who haven’t towed for a long time because of lockdown/travel restrictions.
